NOTE: This post has been edited because Virginia's math wasn't mathing. We have chickens. We have 10 Rhode Island Reds ~ 1 rooster and 9 hens ~ and 11 Buff Orpingtons ~ 1 rooster and 10 hens. This means we have 39 hens. Rhode Island Reds and Buff Orpingtons are good, solid, steady layers. The Rhode Island Reds will lay 200-300/year and the Buff Orpingtons will lay 200-280/year. If you take the mid-range (240) that means we should be getting 4,560 eggs/year or 12-13 eggs
